Graveside services for Paul Carnagey were held Sept. 13 at Fort Bayard National Cemetery, Deming, N.M.
Paul Randall Carnagey, 55, Deming, N.M., died at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, where he lost his battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Mr. Carnagey was raised in the Civil Bend Community. He attended school at Pattonsburg. His high school years were spent at Cullman High, Cullman, Ala.
Mr. Carnagey served during the Vietnam War. He was a warrant officer and began flying helicopters for the Army. Upon completing his assignment in Vietnam, he was given a three year tour in Germany. After returning to the United States, he was a pilot for Chevron/Texaco.
Mr. Carnagey was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Carnagey.
Survivors include his wife, Lavon; five children; his mother, Mary Margaret Schwaiger Cullman, Ala.; one sister, Karen Comer, Deming, N.M.; and seven grandchildren.
