Funeral services for James Vaughn were held Monday at the United Methodist Church in Pattonsburg. Burial was at Bethel Cemetery, Pattonsburg, with military rites at the gravesite by the VFW Post #2176 and American Legion Post #216, Bethany; VFW Post #5329 and American Legion Post #106, Albany; and American Legion Post #56, Eagleville. Arrangements were by Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Pattonsburg, in care of the funeral home.

James A. Vaughn, 77, Pattonsburg, died Sept. 22, 2005 at a Bethany hospital.

Mr. Vaughn was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Watertown, S.D., the son of Albert and Ida (Meridith) Vaughn.

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post #2176. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church, Pattonsburg.

On July 10, 1954, he married Justine Snead in Martinsville. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and three sisters.

Other survivors include one daughter, Patricia Barnett, Bethany; two sons, Larry Vaughn, Pattonsburg, and Harold Vaughn, Perry, Iowa; one sister, Myrtle James, Lee’s Summitt; and two grandchildren.
