To begin serving a 42 month sentence
Ronnie DeShon was ordered to report to the Bureau of Prisons by 2 p.m. on Sept. 23 to begin serving a 42 month sentence, according to Don Ledford, Public Affairs Officer for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, Ronnie G. DeShon, 51, will serve his sentence at the United States Penitentiary (USP) in Marion, Ill. His projected release date is 10-8-2008.
USP is a high security facility housing male inmates. High security institutions, also known as United States Penitentiaries (USPs), have highly-secured perimeters (featuring walls or reinforced fences), multiple- and single-occupant cell housing, the highest staff-to-inmate ratio, and close control of inmate movement.
A number of Bureau of Prison institutions have a small, minimum security camp adjacent to the main facility. According to the Kansas City regional office of the Bureau of Prisons, DeShon will serve his sentence in this satellite camp at Marion. These camps provide inmate labor to the main institution and to off-site work programs.
USP Marion is located approximately nine miles south of the city of Marion, 300 miles from Chicago, and 120 miles from St. Louis.
Ronnie Gene DeShon was sentenced in federal court Aug. 24 for embezzling more than $850,000 from the Pattonsburg school district. DeShon was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Howard F. Sachs, to three years and six months in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered DeShon to pay $854,699 in restitution.
DeShon was the superintendent of the Pattonsburg R-2 School District from July 1, 2000, until he resigned effective Oct. 13, 2004.
