A group of six girls from The Dance Company has been selected for the Showstoppers Top Group Video in the senior division of pom pon and clogging. The girls were notified of the award when they received a congratulations letter recently from Ed Bowles, producer of Showstoppers Dance Competition. The video will be released this fall and will be televised on cable later this winter.
The award came as a pleasant surprise to the studio, since it is only given to 12 groups in the senior dance division category. Receiving two of the 12 awards was a great accomplishment for the group.
Dancers may only be considered for this award if they perform in the competitive categories. This is the first year for The Dance Company to dance a competitive division instead of recreational/novice.
This summer dance students of The Dance Company attended the Mid-America Nationals in San Antonio, Texas. The competition hosted over 76 studios and over 2,000 dancers.
The group consists of Kara Kloepping, daughter of Eric and Lori Kloepping; Emily Michener, daughter of Tim and Karla Michener, Sydney Elbert and Kailey Elbert, daughters of Chris and Shelley Elbert; Kaley Esbeck, daughter of Barney and Robin Esbeck; and Aubrey Nelson, daughter of Bill and Vera Nelson. The Dance Company of Gallatin is owned and operated by Vera Nelson.
