A Higginsville woman was moderately injured in a one-vehicle accident on I-35 at about 1:51 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred as Bernice Jones was southbound on I-35, 15 miles north of Cameron in Daviess County. The vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway and came to rest upright in the west ditch.

Mrs. Jones was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment. She was wearing her seat belt.

The 1990 Nissan King Cab pickup received extensive damage and was towed by Bridgeman’s Wrecker Service of Altamont.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. T. Goolsby, assisted by Tpr. D. Landi and Tpr. D. Christmas.

No summons.

Two Gallatin residents received moderate injuries in an accident on Hwy. 6 one mile west of Gallatin in Daviess County.

Robert Herring was eastbound on Hwy. 6 driving a 1996 International tractor and trailer. He approached another vehicle, applied the brakes, began sliding and went off the south side of Hwy. 6. The trailer separated from the tractor. The tractor came to rest on the driver side in the south ditch. The trailer came to rest on top of the tractor.

Mr. Herring, 28, and a passenger, Kayleigh Filley, 19, who was in the sleeper berth, were taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Mr. Herring was wearing his seat belt.

The semi was extensively damaged and towed by Bridgeman’s Wrecker Service of Altamont.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. A.K. Griffin, assisted by Tpr. J.P. Lynch, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and Gallatin Police Department.

Summons pending.
