Funeral services for Bill Wooden were held Tuesday at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Bill J. Wooden, 48, St. Joseph, died Friday at a Wathena, Kan., rehabilitation center.

Mr. Wooden was born April 20, 1957, in Bethany. He graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1976 and attended vo-tech school. He moved to St. Joseph in 1977.

Mr. Wooden worked for Altec as a proto technician for 27 years.

He was a member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church and the Glass Express Corvette Club.

He married Janet Ross in 1983 in St. Joseph. She survives of the home.

Mr. Wooden was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law E.B. and Dorothy Ross; brother-in-law, Larry Ross; and his grandparents.

Other survivors include: one son, Bryson Wooden, of the home; his parents, William and Carol Wooden, Cainsville; two brothers, Jim and Cyndi Wooden, Pattonsburg, Russell and Lori Wooden, Martinsville; sisters, Julie and Randy Thompson, Scott City, Kan., Mary and Jim Marsh, Ridgeway; grandmother, Berniece Ross, Leon, Iowa.
