Statement regarding federal drought assistance

“I commend Governor Blunt for his continued leadership as our state’s farmers and ranchers struggle to cope with the impact of this year’s devastating drought. The losses associated with the drought continue to rise and it is clear that additional federal assistance is warranted for both crop and livestock producers.

Missouri Farm Bureau strongly supports the Governor’s request and will work closely with members of the Missouri Congressional delegation in an attempt to secure much-needed financial assistance. With their help we can mitigate some of the tremendous economic losses suffered by our state’s farm families and rural communities.”
