Alice Onserio, 35, Arlington, Texas, and Michael Law, 52, West Des Moines, Iowa, were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 3:44 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Mrs. Onserio was northbound one mile south of Pattonsburg on I-35 when her vehicle ran into the median and she overcorrected. The vehicle then came back on the roadway, skidded across all lanes and off the right side of the roadway. Mr. Law, northbound, attempted to avoid the collision and skidded off the right side of the roadway and struck Mrs. Onserio’s vehicle broadside. Both vehicles came to rest off the right side of I-35.
Mrs. Onserio received moderate injuries and was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital by ETA ambulance. Mr. Law received minor injuries and refused treatment. Both were wearing their seat belts.
The 1992 Toyota driven by Mrs. Onserio was totaled and towed by Bridgeman’s Wrecker of Altamont. The 2003 Lexus driven by Mr. Law was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. M. Ott, assisted by Cpl. J.J. Rongey, The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and Pattonsburg First Responders.
