On Aug. 14, 2005, Danielle Ness of the Knee-Hi 4-H Club in Gallatin demonstrated “Pumpkin Block Heads.” She was one of 500 youth selected to give a demonstration in the 4-H Building at the Missouri State Fair.
These demonstrations are a popular and free attraction at the fair. During the year, many 4-H’ers learn demonstration and public speaking skills — teaching others how to do something by showing them in an organized way. 4-H’ers compete at county events for the privilege of presenting a demonstration at the State Fair. Visitors are encourage to ask questions during the demonstrations.
For more information about 4-H or if you are interested in joining one of the local 4-H clubs, contact the University of Missouri Extension Office in Daviess County at 663-3232.
