Ray McAtee, 91, Gallatin, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005.
Graveside services for Ray McAtee were held Friday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Trenton. Arrangements were by Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Circle of Life Hospice or the donor’s choice and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Ray McAtee, 91, Gallatin, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005.
Mr. McAtee was born on June 30, 1914, near Brimson, the son of John and Emma Allen McAtee.
He served in the Army during WWII.
He married Vivian Irene Ratliff on Oct. 3, 1936, in Trenton.
After his discharge from the Army he moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, where he farmed and drove a truck delivering nursery stock for Henry Fields. He worked on construction building bridges and as an electrician. Later he started his own business, McAtee Electric for 10 years until retiring in 1999.
Mr. McAtee was also preceded in death by one son, Robert J. McAtee; one granddaughter, Rhonda McAtee; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian of Lake Viking Care Center in Gallatin; two sons, Kenneth and Mary of Gilman City, and Francis and Cindy of Brooklyn, Iowa; one brother, Orville Collins, Moberly; three sisters, Mary, Madaline and Mildred; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
