The commission met at the site of the proposed road establishment in Jamesport Special Road District, at the corner of RA and 190. Representatives from MoDOT, Jamesport Special Road District and concerned citizens from the Amish community were present. The commission tabled the matter pending a special meeting by the road district to hear the citizens’ views regarding closing one section of the road and establishing the other. MoDOT will not allow access at both locations.
David Holcomb and Danny Heldenbrand attended the Northwest Missouri Commissioners Association meeting on July 28.
The commissioners plan to attend a special meeting hosted by Brad Lager, House Budget Chairman and representative from Maryville, on Thursday, Aug. 11, to address the condition of the lettered, farm-to-market roads in Northwest Missouri.
The Statewide Maintenance Improvement Plan was presented to the commission by Eric Maninga, MoDOT. He explained savings to the department with using practical designing methods rather than standard rules. Also, federal fund will now be spent to upgrade I-35 instead of district 1 maintenance funds.
John Throckmorton, Employee Screening Services Inc., met with the commission regarding federal drug testing.
A portion of the meeting was closed to discuss litigation.
Reconvening, the commission voted unanimously during the closed session to defend the appeal filed by Georgia Maxwell in her salary dispute.
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting routine matters.
Bills were audited and paid.
