Be sure to bring your lawn chairs as the Winston Historical Society presents Jesse James Days on July 15, 16, 17 at the city park. Plenty of great food will be available. The festivities will include flea markets, arts and crafts booths, Fun for Kids Bouncer, and games and popcorn by area scouts.
The cook shack will be open Friday evening and gospel music will be held that evening. The music is sponsored by the Winston Area Ministerial Alliance and features Mike and Pam Spidle, Promise and The Toneys.
Saturday begins with breakfast with the KAW Fire District; a flag raising; a baby show at the city park; and lunch by the historical society. Line up for the parade will be at the school. The parade is sponsored by KAW and will start at 1 p.m. Stop to hear the historical speaker in the Depot, then watch the Mic-O-Say dancers entertain, followed by ‘Country Gone Krazy’ variety show that night. There will free giveaways and all day Saturday.
On Sunday church service will be held in the park, followed by a basket dinner.
The Winston Depot Museum will be open and the Winston Post Office will offer a pictorial cancellation July 16. See ad in this week’s paper for times of events and other information.
