Funeral services for Christine Minnick were held June 20 at the Victory Hills Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kan.; entombment in Highland Park Mausoleum. Arrangements were made by Highland Park Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice, 75 Allen St., PO Box 797, Wilton, ME 04294.

Christine Audra Black Minnick, 94, Farmington, Maine, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

Mrs. Minnick was born in Gilman City, on April 7, 1911, she was the daughter of Ethel and Robert Black of Gallatin.

She graduated from Gallatin High School, received her teaching degree from Southwest Missouri State Teachers College in Springfield, and her MEd. at the University of Kansas. She taught school for 28 years and was a first grade consultant for four years.

She married Eugene D. Minnick on June 19, 1937.

Mrs. Minnick was a member of the Victory Hills Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kan. After her retirement she volunteered with Kaleidoscope, a children’s center with Hallmark in Kansas City. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Epsilon teacher’s sorority, the Retired Teachers of Kansas City, Kan., and a very active member of her church.

Mrs. Minnick moved to Farmington, Maine, to live with her daughter and son-in-law in 1990.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Eugene D. Minnick, and her brother JB Black, Jackson, Miss.

She is survived by her daughter Mary-Sue Hayden, Farmington; a sister Kathleen Beckworth, Little Rock, Ark., and a brother Robert Glenwood Black, Greenville, N.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
