The 2005 Daviess County Swim Program will be held at the Gallatin Municipal Pool July 5 through Aug. 5. Forms will be available by July 2 and can be picked up at the pool.
The schedule for swimming classes is as follows:
Gallatin students: July 5-16
Rest of County: July 18-29
Younger Children, 5 years olds and under: Aug. 1-5
Session Times:
8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. for Level 6; 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for Levels 4 & 5; 10 a.m. to10:45 a.m. for Levels 2 & 3; 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for Level 1. (There is no longer a Level 7. This year, Level 6 will have four classes.)
Every student must pass an exit skills test of each class before entering the next level. Red Cross certificates will be awarded to those who pass the test.
All County (Aug. 1-5)
7 a.m.-8 a.m. – adult fitness and exercise/community water safety
Water exercises, instead of lessons, will be offered if the group requests. The class can go one or two hours. You may wear T-shirts. Instructors will try to make the class fun and comfortable. Interested adults should contact the instructors to enroll. If there is not enough interest, class will be canceled.
10 a.m.: four and five year olds
11 a.m.: 3 years and under.
Children three-years-old and under must have a parent or grandparent in the water with them during the classes.
Jessica King Gannon will serve as Water Safety Instructor.
The cost of the program is $10 per student which should be handed in the day the student enrolls. The swim program is made available to the community through fees and donations.
