The Winston R-6 Board of Education amended the 2004-05 budget and set the 2005-06 salary schedule during their regular meeting held June 16.

The Board amended 2004-05 budget to reflect actual expenditures for the previous year. They also set the 2005-06 salary schedule, increasing from a $22,000 base pay to $22,500 base pay plus increases in the board’s contribution to the insurance plan by $300 per year.

A resolution was adopted to transfer $100,000 from Fund I (general operating account) to Fund IV account (capital operating account) in preparation of roofing the gymnasium.

The 2005–06 budget was adopted.

Tuition rate for non-resident students will be $3,500 per student per school year.

Principal Mr. Steele reported on a successful senior trip to Florida, involving 8 students.

Mr. Burns gave program reports on finance and safety issues, approved by the board.

During a session closed to the public, board members discussed personnel issues and the waiver of student retention policy.

The resignation of Cherri Curtis as custodian was accepted. A contract was offered to Annette Lucassen for custodian for the new school year.

The CORE data report and the special education insurance plan was approved.
