During their regular meeting held during May the Winston R-6 School Board of Education hired Carrie Crouse as elementary and high school counselor for next school year.
The board went over projections for next year’s budget and made amendments to the current budget to pay for school equipment.
The board discussed repairs to the gym roof; the golf and NHS programs; and the new Co-Op ruling for the Missouri High School Association dealing with athletics.
Principal Insurance was selected as the health insurance provider for 2005-2006.
Elementary Principal Lisa Bielby reported an enrollment of 112 students and a 94.36% attendance rate for April. There were 15 students in preschool.
High School Principal Mr. Steele reported an enrollment of 80 in grades 7-12 and a 95.52% attendance rate for April.
Those in attendance during the regular meeting for May of the Winston R-6 Board of Education were Alan Ward, Chretta Mastin, Shelly Mason, Dan Bridgeman, Joe Michael, Steve Lee, Barb Youtsey, Wendell Burns and Lisa Bielby.
