Funeral services for Winona Godman will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Thursday and one hour before the service, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Cemetery, Jamesport.
Winona Godman, 101, Jamesport, died Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Godman was born Jan. 29, 1904, to George and Susie (Wiles) Mills in rural Jamesport.
She married Harold Godman in December of 1920. They lived and farmed near rural Jamesport. After the death of her husband in 1968, Mrs. Godman moved into Jamesport to make her home.
She took nurses training at Hedrick Hospital in Chillicothe. After completion of her training, she worked for Dr. Bailey in his clinic in Jamesport until she was 77 years old. She continued to help provide homecare until she was in her eighties.
Mrs. Godman was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Godman, in 1978, a daughter, Marjorie Rosson Earley in 1981; three brothers, Wilburn, Wesley and Lloyd Mills; and two sisters, Grace Price and Mary Bulyar.
Survivors include grandchildren, Linda Hughs, Brimson, Mary Wilson, Trenton, Arlene McLain, Belton, Deborah Earley, Tarkio, Rudy Rosson, Texas, Rex Earley, Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Robin Earley, Phoenix; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
