A 31-year-old man was pronounced dead last Tuesday, May 17, after a tree which he had cut fell on him. Jimmy J. Kromeich was cutting trees about 1:30 p.m. just north of Coffey, an eighth of a mile south of the Harrison County line, when the accident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Daviess County Coroner. Assisting the Daviess County Sheriff’s Officer were the Coffey First Responders and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

Larry Motley Sr., 48, Cameron was arrested May 20 for felony stealing. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department Probable Cause Statement, Motley had entered into an agreement with Mark Corwin of Gallatin on March 19, 2005, and had received $7,350 for services to be rendered. After contacting Motley several times, Corwin terminated the agreement since no work had been done, but the money has not been returned to Corwin. Motley posted $35,000 bond.

Lennon Ruch, 28, Jameson, was arrested May 23 for felony unlawful use of a weapon. He posted $15,000 bond.

Doris Jay Qua, 25, Minneapolis, Minn., was charged May 18 with misdemeanor no valid license. She posted $500 bond.

Emily Jacobs, 28, Jamesport, was arrested May 21 for misdemeanor DWI. She was processed and released after 12-hour detoxification. A summons was issued.

Brian Bullock, 30, Camdenton, was arrested for misdemeanor DWI and driving while revoked on May 22. He posted $1,000 bond.

Dustin Scott, 21, Maysville, was charged May 22 with misdemeanor DWI. He was processed and released. A summons was issued.

Jeremy R. Brannon, 21, Gilman City, was arrested May 18 for misdemeanor DWI. He is being held at Midwest Security Housing on $500 bond.

Ronald Mays, St. Paul, Minn., was arrested May 17 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He posted $500 bond.

Jose Najera, 24, Liberty, was charged May 17 with failure to appear on misdemeanor charges of DWI and driving while revoked. He is being held at Ray County Detention Center on $3,000 bond.

Raymond Gonzales, 34, Waukee, Iowa, was arrested May 17 for misdemeanor no valid license. He posted $500 bond.

Paul Schulze, 50, Kansas City, was charged May 22 with misdemeanor domestic assault 3rd degree. He posted $500 bond.

William Brown, 25, Bloomington, Minn., was charged May 22 with violation of bond. He is being held at Midwest Security Housing on $1,300 bond.
