Gallatin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution met May 11, 2005, at the country home of Mary Lee Ellis with eight present. Regent Beverly Ward opened with a poem, “The Meanest Mother,” Pledge of allegiance to the Flag, and the American’s Creed. National Defense Report was given by the chairman. The secretary read the minutes and treasurer Fallis Froman gave a report on state conference. There were 399 present from 58 chapters of the 107 chapters in Missouri. She was honored to give a memorial for past regent Jeannie Carpenter at the conference and shared highlights of the event. Gallatin chapter received certificates of participation, public relations and outstanding entry of good citizenship. Discussion was held on the district meeting Sept. 17 at First Christian Church in Chillicothe. Our chapter will serve Friday night meal to the state board. Roslyn Heights barbecue will be June 11. Program was “Time for Dolly Madison” by Ann Schweizer. Hostess served refreshments. Our Flag Day luncheon has been changed to Little Blessings Tea Room in Cameron on June 8 at 12:30. We will meet and car pool from the west side of the Daviess County Library at 11:45.
