James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that someone had stolen the radio from the dump truck. The sheriff’s department will investigate. Also, the crew will begin deck replacement of a bridge in Grand River Township this week.
Bills were audited and paid.
Kevin Heldenbrand, sheriff, met with the commission regarding prisoner costs and a regional jail.
The commission received a right-of-way certification from Shafer, Kline and Warren, engineers for BRO project (24). This was executed and returned to the firm.
Lyle Warford, Benton Township, met with the commission regarding back taxes on his grain bins. Reta Rains, collector, and Betty Harmison, assessor, also attended. He asked for an abatement on the interest involved. The commission granted a partial abatement.
Don Hoyle, Grand River Township, came questioning CART mileage. Records were found showing that a portion of a road had been closed in 1981.
Craig Smith, Extension office, introduced Laura Street, University of Missouri Plant Pathologist, to the commission leaving literature on managing soybean rust.
Notice was received from the Missouri Department of Transportation, certifying that all necessary right-of-way, easement and access rights have been acquired for BRO (26).
