Ed Meador updated the council on the repair of the city streets during the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held Wednesday, May 11, at city hall. Gary Lyons from Vance Bros., stated that the streets need to be in excellent condition to benefit from slurry seal. He suggested the city do the chip-n-seal with hay-dite. The board motioned to continue with the repairs the city is presently doing to get the streets ready. Mr. Lyons can then look at the streets. If it would be worthwhile to treat the streets with slurry seal, then the city will go ahead as planned, and if not, then the city will go with the next best thing.

The board approved placing an advertisement for summer help in the paper. Whoever is hired will work on an average of 32 hours a week.

The city clerk was allowed by a vote of the board to join the Northwest Missouri City Clerk Association and to attend the meeting at St. Joseph on May 19.

Bills were paid as presented.

Mr. Meador informed the council about vandals at the park again. The board motioned to send out a flyer stating the park restrooms will be available by keyed entry only.

The issue concerning the horse arena was left open for further discussion.

The above are the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held Wednesday, May 11, at city hall. Those in attendance were Gene Walker, Barbara Streich, Leonard Barr, Ed Meador, Dwight Schell, Mayor Mark Smith and Dana Cameron.
