John Bohannon of Jameson, graduated Friday, May 13, from Grand River Technical School, with a certificate in Ag Diesel Service Technology. John completed his internship at Rob’s Cycle in Pattonsburg, where he is currently employed. John is the son of Steve and Elaine Bohannon, and grandson of Bill and Leota Snyder and Nina Adkison, all of Jameson.
Sheila Curtis, wife of Lawrence Curtis, and daughter of Bernie and Bobbie Cabra, all of Gallatin, graduated from North Central Missouri College in Trenton on May 14, from the ADN Program. Upon completion of the State Boards in July, she will be a Registered Nurse. She begins working at Truman Medical Center (Hospital Hill) in Kansas City in June.
Heather Lynn Ott, a 2002 graduate of Gallatin R-5 High School, received the Nelle Blum Memorial Scholarship during the annual Missouri Western State College Department of Business Awards and Recognition Ceremony held April 28. Heather’s major is in business management.
Southwest Missouri State University conferred 1,952 degrees to students this spring during commencement ceremonies May 13 at Hammons Student Center. Graduates from our area include Kenneth L. Youtsey of Altamont, B.S. degree, and Wesley R. Gay of Gallatin, B.S. degree.
A total of 1,459 baccalaureate degrees, 475 master’s degrees and 18 specialist degrees were conferred.
Jeffries graduates from NWMSU
Caleb Matthew Jeffries graduated April 30, from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. He has accepted employment with the Missouri Department of Conservation.
He is the son of Ron and Pam Jeffries of McFall. His has one brother, Josh who is currently in the United States Marine Corps. He is the grandson of Jim and Patsy Cox of Coffey, and the late Emmett and June Jeffries of McFall. Great grandparents are the late Chester and Chloe Klindt of Bethany.
NCMC honors nursing graduates
Graduates of the Level II Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program at North Central Missouri College in Trenton were honored during a pinning ceremony on Saturday, May 14, in the Ketcham Community Center.
Nursing instructor, Beth Crawford was the guest speaker. Special recognition was given to the top students. Among those with clinical honors were Christina Coates, Pattonsburg; and Shelia Curtis, Gallatin.
ADN graduates are: Marquitta Brown of Coffey, Christina Coates of Pattonsburg; Sheila Curtis and Jennifer Howard both of Gallatin.
