Scott Long, a professional experienced in area non-profit agencies, has been selected as the new executive director of the Green Hills Community Action Agency. This organization provides services to low-income individuals in a 9-county region which includes Daviess County.

Mr. Long will replace Don Warren who plans to retire in June after 33 years as executive director. Mr. Long will oversee 62 employees and offices located throughout the 9-county region.

Long has been community services director with GHCAA since January, 2004. His previous jobs include executive director of the Rural Community Foundation in Trenton, assistant director of placement and continuing education at NCMC in Trenton, and 4-H associate youth specialist for University Extension in Chillicothe. He also is on the adjunct faculty for NCMC at Trenton.

GHCAA is the chief resource for families in emergency situations. Programs and services are designed to help low-income families become self-sufficient. Approximately 3,000 low-income families are served each year.

Services include employment and training, housing assistance, housing development, home weatherization and rehab, domestic violence prevention, emergency services, family support, outreach, and community services. Its family planning services also extend into the counties of Carroll and Ray.
