Funeral services for Doris Hill were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Norborne Baptist church. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery in Gallatin. Thurman Funeral Home of Norborne was in charge of the arrangements. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association.

Doris Ileen Hill, 82, Carrollton, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at the Life Care Center in Carrollton.

Mrs. Hill was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Gallatin, to George W. and Elizabeth (Holmes) Terrill. She lived most of her life in the Excelsior Springs and Carrollton areas.

She married Zay Hill of Excelsior Springs on Dec. 23, 1947. He died on Dec. 17, 1998.

Mrs. Hill worked as a bookkeeper and sales clerk for 50 years. She worked for the Missouri Farmers Association in Cameron; the city hall in Cameron; the Gay Lynn Children’s store in Chillicothe; and the National Guard in Carrollton.

Mrs. Hill was a member of the Norborne First Baptist church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Zay Hill.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Miller of Bogard; two brothers, Jule Terrill of Gallatin, and Donald Terrill of Muskegon, Mich; one sister, Lois Houghton of Gallatin; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
