The handicap accessible dock was donated by the Terry Murray Foundation
The fishing dock built in remembrance of Terry Murray by a grant from the Terry Murray Foundation is now ready to be used and enjoyed at the Dockery Park pond. The dock is handicap accessible with rod holders. The floatation dock will move up and down with the water level and has stabilizers screwed into the pond bottom. It was built last week by Tradewinds of Altamont and installed by Denny Strein. Anyone who would like to add sections to the dock should contact Tradewinds. Terry was the son of Marion and Mary Ellen Murray, formerly of Gallatin, now residents of The Village in Cameron. Mr. Murray was president of the Bank of Gallatin. Terry graduated in 1961 with Mayor Thomas’ class. Mayor Thomas had the honor of presenting the park with the dock and said he remembers how much Terry liked to fish. The rest of the grant money will be put into a savings account for the park. [Staff Photo/TLH]
