Scott Watson, son of David and Velma Watson of Gallatin, has coupled his soft spot for children with his love for motorcycles by launching the Choppers 4 Children bike show and rally to be held Saturday, April 30, on the historic Neosho square.

Scott is the Newton County Prosecuting Attorney and his wife Kathy works as a case processor for Children’s Miracle Network. Both come in contact with hurting and needy children in their work. Scott said launching the rally was a way to give something back to a community that has been so gracious to him.

Choppers 4 Children is a non-profit corporation that provides financial support to the Children’s Miracle Network and other children’s charities. The Children’s Miracle Network provides funding to families whose children have been born premature, injured in an accident, or stricken with a serious illness or disease.

There will be a $10 admission charge for the show and rally, which begins at 10 a.m,. with registration for a poker run. Food and beverage vendors will be on hand as will live music. Bands include Turner and Eastman, City Limits, Blazing Country, Oreo Blue and the ZZ Top Tribute Band. Bikers can show their bikes and observe a biker build-off between Sick Pigs Motorcycle Company of Springfield, and the V-8 Choppers of Miami, Okla. Guests will also have the chance to see the world’s only 10-person Harley-Davidson limo motorcycle on display all day.

“This is going to be a huge event,” said Scott in an interview for Show Me the Ozarks Magazine. “No matter who we’ve contacted about helping us they have all said ‘yes.” It’s for the kids and we are blessed.”

Neosho is in the southwest corner of Missouri about 30 miles from the Arkansas state line. Rain date for the rally is May 7.
