Funeral services for Mary Hanes were held Saturday at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, near Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, Gallatin.
Mary Louise Haynes, 95, Gallatin, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center at Gallatin.
Mrs. Haynes was born March 29, 1910, to Arthur and Nettie “Ayers” Daugherty in Gallatin. She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1927 and attended the Chillicothe Business College. She returned to Gallatin and worked at the printing office. Later in 1935, Mary moved to California. On Dec. 12, 1945, she married Arland “Slick” Haynes in Los Angles. While in California, she was employed as a secretary at the Animastat Company for over 15 years, retiring in 1975. The Haynes returned to Gallatin in 1975 to make their home.
Mrs. Haynes was a member of the Gallatin First Christian Church, Christian Endeavor, CWF, and was the financial secretary for the church for many years.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Daugherty in 2002.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Arland “Slick” Haynes of the home.
