A motorcycle awareness ride and proclamation signing will take place this Saturday, April 23 in 10 locations across north central Missouri, including Gallatin and Pattonsburg.

Holt, Cameron, Maysville, Bethany, Princeton, Spickard, Trenton, and Chillicothe will also be the stops on a motorcycle ride beginning at 9 a.m. at the Hilltop Restaurant in Holt and ending in Chillicothe at Simpson Park at approximately 4 p.m.

The ride is being organized by Freedom of Road Riders® (FORR) Local 8 of Chillicothe with assistance from Local 3 of Lathrop, Local 40 of Bethany and Local 41 of Cameron to promote motorcycle awareness in the area. The stops in each town will be to gather a proclamation from officials at each location noting May as “Motorcycle Awareness Month.”

The proclamations will be taken on a statewide run to Jefferson City April 25. There they will be presented to the governors office on behalf of FORR® and Missouri motorcyclists.

The purpose of the ride is to create awareness that more motorcycles will be on the roads as the weather turns warmer. “We want to make the general public aware that the riding season is officially underway and to ‘look twice and save a life’ while driving.”

All motorcyclists are welcome to join at any location and ride as much of the planned route as they want. Breakfast will be served at the beginning of the ride and the lunch stop will be in Gallatin.
