Mary Lou Souders, 69, of Jamesport, died Sunday, April 10 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Funeral services for Mary Souders were held at: 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Olive Baptist Church, Gallatin. Burial was at Mount Ayr Cemetery, Altamont. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Jamesport. Contributions may be made to the Olive Baptist Church.
Mary Lou Souders, 69, of Jamesport, died Sunday, April 10 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Mrs. Souders was born April 26, 1935, to Iver and Leona “Hall” McCorkle in Cowgill. She attended school at Jameson and Gilman City.
She married Lawrence Souders on Nov. 23, 1953, in Jamesport. The couple made their home in the area for most of their lives.
Mrs. Souders was employed at Trenton Foods for 17 years, and later owned and operated the Jamesport Package Store for 15 years, retiring after the sale of the store in the late eighties.
Mrs. Souders was preceded in death by a brother, Dean McCorkle, and a sister, Norma Thomas.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Lawrence of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Huskey of Excelsior Springs; two sons, Mike of Jamesport and Danny of Trenton; one sister, Nancy Case of Sunrise Beach; one brother, Ed McCorkle of Camdenton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
