Graveside services for Rachel Searcy were held Saturday at Cope Cemetery, near Winston. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Pony Express Council of Boy Scouts of America.
Rachel Searcy, 85, Chillicothe, formerly of Gallatin, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe.
Mrs. Searcy was born Oct. 7, 1919, to John and Eunice (Nickerson) Moulin at Gilman City. She attended school in Jameson.
On Nov. 2, 1946, she married Cecil Searcy in Daviess County. They moved to Gallatin in 1951 to make their home and raise their family
Mrs. Searcy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Cecil, in 2000; a daughter, Patsy, in 1980; two grandchildren, Tasha Sparks in 1991, and infant, Jamie Sparks; four brothers, Andy, Frank, Jim, and Denzel Moulin; and two sisters, Alice Palmer and Dorothy Eads.
Survivors include one son, Earl Searcy, St. Joseph; one daughter, Jody Finnell, Maysville; one sister, Betty Cox, Independence; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
