Garnett captures Western Invitational by 5 strokes

Missouri Western junior Brice Garnett captured the individual title yesterday in the MWSC Invitational Golf Tournament held at St. Joseph Country Club.

Along with everyone else, Garnett battled cold temperatures and gusty winds on Monday and came back Tuesday to excel during a day of sleet, snow showers and more wind. The 2002 Gallatin R-5 grad shot an even par 72 on Monday to take the lead and managed a 77 Tuesday during less than perfect conditions on the course.

Missouri Western won the team title with a combined total of 623, 22 strokes better than runnerup Winona State.
