For the past six years, Gallatin Junior High students have participated in the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s Middle Level Sportsmanship Essay Contest. This year’s subject was, “What Should Schools Do To Promote Sportsmanship.” A local winner was chosen from all junior high entries and submitted to a panel of Northwest Missouri District judges.

Gallatin High School is proud to announce that Jamie Brinnen has been selected as the Northwest District essay winner. Jamie joins three other GHS Northwest winners over the past six years. She is now eligible for state level judging with other district winners.

Jamie has already received a prize package. Presenting her a certificate prior to Tuesday’s night varsity girls game was her English teacher, Glenda St. John.

GHS encourages all fans to demonstrate good sportsmanship and congratulates Jamie on her winning essay.
