The Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club competed at the YMCA Rebel Wrestling tournament in Chillicothe on Feb. 12th. Fourteen wrestlers competed for Gallatin with a very strong showing. Matt Schieber and Levi Michener won individual championships in their respective brackets, and everyone else put in a strong showing. The following results were accomplished by the wrestlers:
6 and Under: Brylee Bowles 3rd; 8 and Under: Bradley Rhoades 2nd; 10 and Under:
Chad Ness 2nd, Matt Schieber 1st, Mitchell Vanderslice 3rd, Bryton Bowles 3rd, Dakota Porter 3rd, Blayton Bowles 4th; 12 and Under: Levi Michener 1st, Aubrey Walker 3rd, Brandon Ness 3rd, Britton Wright 3rd, Tyler Grooms 3rd; 14 and Under: Robert Rhoades 4th.
On Feb. 19, the boys wrestled at the Buchanan County Wrestling tournament in Faucett. Ten wrestlers made the trip, with Chad Ness and Bryton Bowles winning individual championships. Matt Schieber lost for only the second time all year and finished in second place, and Brylee Bowles celebrated his fifth birthday with his best showing of the year by winning 3 of 4 matches and finishing in 2nd place. The following are the results:

Next Saturday, five wrestlers will compete at the Liberty Nationals at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, with 2000 wrestlers from all over the country. The team will then travel to Marceline on Sunday for their last regular season tournament before District competition.
