Jerry Neil “Jerry” Slaybaugh, 63, Independence, formerly of Pattonsburg, died Jan. 26, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service for Jerry Slaybaugh was held Sunday, Jan. 30, at Christ United Methodist Church, Independence. Arrangements were by Speaks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Research, Christ United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
Jerry Neil “Jerry” Slaybaugh, 63, Independence, formerly of Pattonsburg, died Jan. 26, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Slaybaugh was born Feb. 18, 1941, in Pattonsburg to Forest and Pearl Slaybaugh. He graduated from high school in King City in 1959.
Mr. Slaybaugh was a barber for 40 years in Kansas City.
He was a member of the Air National Guard and King City Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, June; and two brothers, Dudley and Bill.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jan Slaybaugh; one daughter, Lori Gregor, Lenexa, Kan.; one son, Greg Slaybaugh, Lake Lotawana; two sisters, Jessie Rose Rainey, and Sue Forrest Burr; one brother, Carl Slaybaugh; and five grandchildren.
