The Polo Panthers are visitors for Homecoming Night at Winston High School this Friday, which culminates a week of spirit activities at WHS with Red and Black Spirit Day.

Friday’s Homecoming activities begin at 2:30 p.m. with a pep rally held in the WHS gym. The senior concession stand will be open at 5:15 for supper. Prior to the girls varsity game, The National Anthem will be sung by “The Redbird Trio,” Marilyn (Caldwell) Clark `72, Vicki (Heldenbrand) Kumm `74 and Tracy Clark `02.

Tipoff for the Lady Redbirds vs. the Lady Panthers is 6:30 p.m, followed by the boys game at 7:45. Winston cheerleaders will perform a dance routine at halftime. King and Queen coronation will be held directly following the boys game. A school dance will follow and last until 11:30 p.m.

This year’s candidates for king and queen are: freshmen Geoffrey Van Wye and Courtney Lang, sophomores Ross Williams and Hannah Barker, juniors Kenny Lee and Aries Quiroz, seniors Mike McCaslin and Jenifer Jones, student council candidates Ricky Baldwin and Jackie Lee and basketball candidates Cody Lang and Jessica Frazier.
