An article raising concerns about the connection between Parent Help and Thayer Learning Center appeared in the Kansas City Star on Jan. 23.

Parent Help referral service is located in the former PSF building in the industrial park on Hwy. 6 outside of Gallatin. According to the article by Steve Rock, several parents who sent their troubled teens to Thayer Learning Center in Kidder were referred to the school by what they thought was an independent agency — Parent Help.

Parent Help referral service is operated by John and Willa Bundy, the same people who run the Thayer Learning Center.

The question is whether or not Parent Help fully disclosed that connection to the parents who called for information. The article cited a representative of a center for business ethics who stated the conflict of interest was clearly unethical.

Sheriff Kevin Heldenbrand said that to his knowledge no formal legal investigation is being conducted into the Parent Help referral service.
