An ordinance establishes and designates two 15 minute parking spaces on the east side of Main Street
The Gallatin Board of Aldermen passed an ordinance amending the Gallatin Municipal Code during their regular meeting held Thursday, Jan. 24, at city hall. The ordinance establishes and designates two 15 minute parking spaces on the east side of Main Street in Gallatin.
Police Chief Mark Richards reported on activity from Jan. 13 to Jan. 24: one possession of controlled substance; one out warrant arrest; one failure to register plates. Chief Richards informed the board that he changed the brand of dog food at the pound. He is also looking into fingerprinting cards for the children in the community.
Bills in the amount of $16,824.53 were approved for payment.
City Administrator Toby Dougherty submitted a MOPEP agreement packet to the board to review.
An ordinance amending the city code addressing utility deposits was approved after first and second readings.
The 2004 annual financial statement was approved.
Mr. Dougherty informed the board that a power washer was purchased.
Discussion was held on Christmas in the Park invoices.
During comments by the mayor, John Thomas had a complaint about old newspapers stacking up in driveways/yards, especially at unoccupied homes. He also had a complaint about the trash service.
