Kena J. Andrews, 49, of Amarillo, Texas, was fatally injured in an accident on I-35 at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2, about four miles north of Cameron in Daviess County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as the northbound 2003 Freightliner tractor-trailer in which Mrs. Andrews was a passenger traveled off the right side of the road and struck a culvert. Mrs. Andrews was thrown from the sleeper berth into the cab. The driver of the vehicle, Charles Abbott, 55, Amarillo, was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital by Daviess County Ambulance.
Daviess County Coroner David McWilliams pronounced Mrs. Andrews dead at the scene.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.P. Lynch, assisted by Cpl. M.E. Wilhoit, Tpr. A.A. Henry, Major Crash Team, and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
