The jury trial of Lori A. Paulno is set to begin on Monday, Jan. 10. Paulno was charged in August, 2002, with first degree murder charges in the death of her husband, Kirk G. Paulno. The case will be heard in Clinton County on a change of venue.

Paulno was first charged with abandonment of a corpse after an unidentified body was found near Gallatin, behind a house located at 23365 State Highway MM. The body was later identified as her husband, a paraplegic. She is accused of shooting him and burning the body on or about July 11, 2001.

Paulno has been held at Midwest Security Housing in Pattonsburg while awaiting trial. The case will be prosecuted by Daviess County Prosecutor Julia Filley with assistance from the Missouri Attorney General’s office.
