Jeff Richard Whitfield, 63, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services for Jeff Whitfield will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Visitation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home where friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Jeff Richard Whitfield, 63, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at his residence.
Mr. Whitfield was born Sept. 18, 1941, to Jeff and Winona “Landes” Whitfield in Gallatin. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1959. He also attended and graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
After college, Mr. Whitfield worked for The Standard Oil Company for many years and The Hartford Insurance Company. He also owned and operated a service station in Overland Park, Kan.
He married Pam Boyer on Dec. 24, 1982, in St. Louis, where they were both involved as representatives for Consumer Electronics. Jeff and Pam returned to Gallatin in 1987 and continued working in the electronics business and in 1993 they began raising cattle on the farm south of Gallatin.
Mr. Whitfield was a member of the Gallatin Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his father Jeff Whitfield, and an infant daughter, Jessica.
Survivors include his wife, Pam, of the home; two sons, John J. Whitfield, Kansas City, Kan., and Michael Judd Whitfield, Tucson, Ariz.; his mother, Winona Whitfield, Gallatin; and one brother, John Whitfield, Gallatin.
