Harold Junior “Butch” Stitt, 65, Pattonsburg, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at a Kansas City hospital.
Funeral services for Harold Stitt were held Monday, Jan. 3, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Pattonsburg. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
Harold Junior “Butch” Stitt, 65, Pattonsburg, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at a Kansas City hospital.
Mr. Stitt was born Aug. 31, 1939, in Pattonsburg, the son of Harold Layton and Mildred Frances (Vance) Stitt. He was given the nickname “Butch” as a child, but was also known as Junior to some. He attended country schools until sixth grade and then Pattonsburg school, graduating in 1957.
On March 30, 1962, he married Patricia A. Bain in Eagleville. She survives of the home.
Mr. Stitt lived his entire life in the Pattonsburg area. He drove a gravel truck and a lime truck for over 40 years. He also worked for the city of Pattonsburg, Lake Viking Maintenance, and as a janitor at the Pattonsburg R-2 School.
Mr. Stitt served on the Pattonsburg Volunteer Fire Department, mayor of Pattonsburg in 1989, and was a member of the Pattonsburg Lions Club.
He was a member of the Oak Ridge Church.
Mr. Stitt was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Darla Gardner.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; three daughters, Kelly Hightree, Kristy Lewis and Dana McDaniel; and five grandchildren.
