Academic Team wins championship; STUCO steps up; Students of the month named; HDC Music Day
Academic Team wins championship
The high school academic team won first place at the conference academic tournament. The team finished the season with a record of 11-2. It has been 10 years since the team won first place at conference.
Bryan Roberts received All-Conference recognition. Catherine Jones and Nicole Ray also received Conference Honorable-Mention.
As a reward for their accomplishment, the team went to Kansas City Crown Center to see a play on Dec. 13.
STUCO steps up
Members of this year’s student council are Crystal Cook, president; Carah Carr, vice-president; Bryan Roberts, Melissa Youngs, Beth Morris, Brianna Weber, Meghan Roberts, Jackie Bartz and Sarah Morris.
Students of the month named
Recent students of the month at North Daviess are seventh grader Sara Morris and eighth grader Tyler Cox for October.
Sarah is the daughter of Becky and Gene Morris. She plays basketball and is on the honor roll. She is the seventh grade student council representative.
Tyler Cox is the son of Cynthia and Benji Cox. He plays basketball and is on the honor roll.
Carah Carr and Bryan Roberts were selected as Students of the Month for November.
Carah is the daughter of Rayetta and Bob Carr. She played softball and is on the basketball team. She is the Student Council vice president. She is also on the honor roll.
Bryan is the son of Becci and Shane Roberts. Bryan is the FFA president and serves as the senior class student council representative. Bryan was on the academic team and placed second in conference.
HDC Music Day
HDC Music Day is coming up in February. Several band students tried out for seats in the HDC band. Students representing North Daviess include Brianna Weber, second chair flute; Crystal Cook, first chair clarinet; Sarah Morris, seventh chair clarinet; Elizabeth Merritt, eighth chair clarinet; and Jaclyn Ray, fifth chair trumpet. Music Day will take place Saturday, Feb. 19, in Cainsville.
