Winston R-6 Board of Education discussed repair of the school’s gym roof
After returning from an executive session, the Winston R-6 Board of Education discussed repair of the school’s gym roof and decided to get estimates on the total cost for it to be repaired.
The elementary principal reported an enrollment in kindergarten through sixth grade of 110, with 19 preschoolers, and a 95.5% attendance rate for November.
The high school principal reported an enrollment in grades 7-12 of 84, with an attendance rate of 92%.
The board was given an MSIP report and informed that the teachers would have an in-service on Wednesday, Dec. 22, to begin preparation for the MSIP review, which will be in January of 2006.
The board reviewed and approved the following program reports: Title One; Vocational Education Program; Gifted Education Program; and Community Education Program.
The Calendar of Events was also approved.
The board went into executive session to do a performance evaluation for the superintendent and to discuss student discipline concerns.
After returning to regular session, the board discussed practice schedules.
Board members in attendance were Chretta Mastin, Gary Caldwell, Alan Ward, Melvin Lee, Dan Bridgeman and Wendell Burns.
Next regular board meeting was set for Jan. 20, 2005.
