XI XI Beta, Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Dec. 7 at the home of Misse Tolen for a soup, sandwich and dessert Christmas party. There were 10 members present. Membership, service projects (Angel Trees), legacy and other chapter business was discussed. The program was a gift exchange and revealing day with Gina Dixon reading poems from the book “Old Time Christmas.” Next meeting is Jan. 4 at the home of Gina Dixon.
The Daviess County Business Womens’ Association held their monthly meeting on Dec. 14 at the Gallatin Methodist Church. Seventeen members and three guests wrapped packages for the adopted family and the Angel Tree child plus delivered a dozen holiday “goodie” plates in the community. Hostesses were Mary Ellen Barker and Sharon Whitt. After a short business meeting, dinner was served followed by a gift exchange and some “wild” games of “take-away-bingo.” The next meeting will be on Jan. 11, with Norma Griffin and Deanna McWilliams as hostesses.
