Funeral services for Bob Spickard were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the First Christian Church, Trenton. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Trenton. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or the 50-50 Class at the church.

Bob Spickard, 84, formerly of Trenton, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004.

Mr. Spickard was born on June 25, 1920, on a farm near Spickard, the son of Leslie Earl and Elma Agnes Barnes Spickard.

On Jan. 31, 1941, he was married to Helen Louise Clifton at Chillicothe. She died on Dec. 21, 2000.

Mr. Spickard farmed in Grundy County until 1962. In 1963, he and his wife moved into Trenton when he began employment with Bock Truck and Tractor in Trenton, selling vehicles. After that company closed, he sold vehicles for Anderson Motors in Princeton for a few years, then began selling for Gallatin Truck and Tractor until he retired.

Mr. Spickard was a member of the Trenton First Christian Church, where he attended the 50-50 Class. He was a life member of the Grand River I.O.O.F. Lodge.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Billie Spickard.

Survivors include one daughter Shirley Curley, Olathe, Kan.; one brother Tom Spickard, Trenton; a grandson and a granddaughter.
