The newly-ranked Gallatin Bulldogs, #9 in the latest Missouri Class 2 boys poll, pulled away in the second half and downed Winston, 69-53, Tuesday night in non-conference action at GHS. The Lady Bulldogs sprinted to a 29-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 67-25 victory over the Lady Redbirds.
The Bulldogs, 4-0 on the season, received 18 points from Marcus Lacy, 14 from Nic Burrell and 11 from Andrew Adkison. Kyle Hefley notched three treys and finished with nine points for the Dogs.
The Redbirds, 3-2, were led by Daniel Williams with 15, Cody Lang with 12 and Jared Lee with 10.
Gallatin’s girls, now 3-2, put together a balanced scoring attack, led by Brittney Hixson with 14 points. Trisha Sprague tallied 11 and Ayrica Batson chipped in 10. Jackie Lee canned a game-high 15 points for the Lady Redbirds.
Gallatin teams travel to Trenton this Friday night for a 6 p.m. tipoff. Winston squads are back home against Breckenridge.
