Reuben Detweiler, 33, Jamesport, was fatally injured in an accident at about 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Mr. Detweiler was westbound on Hwy. 6 when he lost control of his 1995 Ford F-250 on an ice covered bridge west of Route K and traveled off the right side of the road. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top. Mr. Detweiler was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Jason Smith.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. A McAtee, assisted by Sgt. M. Ott and the Daviess County Sheriff.
Jerry Capps, 32, Breckenridge, was fatally injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28.
The accident occurred as Mr. Capps was eastbound on Rte. M, two miles north of Breckenridge when his 1988 Ford traveled off of the right side of the roadway, struck a field entrance, went airborne and overturned two and one-half times. Mr. Capps was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest on its top.
Mr. Capps was taken by Daviess County ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was pronounced dead at the hospital by Dr Ronald Keller.
