Filing dates for the election of board members were set during the Nov. 18 regular meeting of the Winston R-6 Board of Education. Interested persons may file on Dec. 14, 2004, at 8 a.m. through Jan. 18, 2005, at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Bielby, elementary principal, reported an enrollment of 108 students in grades K-6, 19 students in preschool, and an attendance rate of 95.13% for October.

Jerry Steele, high school principal, reported an enrollment of 86 students in grades 7-12 and a 93% attendance rate for October.

The board reviewed and approved the facility and grounds report and the migratory services report.

The board then went into executive session to review evaluation of probationary staff. They then came out of executive session.

Reviewed and approved the school report card.

Board was presented with the dates for the Missouri Association of Rural Educators (MARE) conference. Those dates are Feb. 25-26, 2005.

The board agreed to contract with Pepsi for the school’s pop and juice supplies. The seven-year contract will start in January.

Rental of the gym by Coach Lewis for Jan. 8 and Feb. 19, 2005, was approved.

The next regular board meeting was set for Thursday, Dec. 16.
