Circuit Court

Civil cases filed: David Cox vs. Linda Steward, petition for recount; Karen G. Taylor vs. Daniel R. Taylor, dissolution.

Criminal cases filed: State vs. Frank Edwin Flanders, robbery 1st degree, Class A felony and felony armed criminal action; State vs. Brett F. Olsen, unlawful use of a weapon, Class D felony.

Law Day was conducted Nov. 18 by Judge Stephen Griffin. The following cases were heard:

A divorce granted to Deborah Deems from Bradley Deems.

Jessica Lynn Hartley entered a guilty plea to hindering prosecution, Class D felony, and a pre-sentence investigation was ordered.

Kevin Harmon entered a plea of not guilty to murder, kidnaping and armed criminal action. The case was continued to Dec. 9, 2004, at 9 a.m.

Glenda J. Bailey plead guilty to attempting to commit the offense of manufacturing a controlled substance, Class B felony. She was sentenced to 10 years in the Department of Corrections, with court-ordered participation in the institutional treatment program under section 559.115.

Michael Lee Love entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of robbery 2nd degree, Class B felony, in connection with the robbery of the Gallatin Casey’s store. He was sentenced to 15 years in the Department of Corrections with 120-day callback under section 559.115.

Donald Ray Hartley entered a guilty plea to the Class C felony of arson 2nd degree. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

In State vs. Brian Joseph Christensen Mahan, the defendant entered a guilty plea and a pre-sentence investigation was ordered. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, Class C felony.

Robert S. Henderson entered a guilty plea to possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, Class B felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.

In State vs. Charles E. Franks, he had entered guilty pleas on Aug. 5 to forgery, Class C felony; DWI, Class B misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle without a valid license, Class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections on the forgery charge. On the last two charges, the imposition of sentence suspended and he received two years probation.
