Two Kansas City youth were injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 3:50 a.m. on I-35, ten miles south of Pattonsburg in Daviess County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as a northbound vehicle driven by Arienne Barnes, 19, Kansas City, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels.
Arienne Barnes received minor injuries. A passenger, Charles Cook, 21, received moderate injuries. Both were taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. They were wearing their seat belts.
The 1994 Ford received extensive damaged and was towed by Bridgemans of Altamont.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.P. Lynch.
Summons for failure to drive on right half of roadway, no insurance, and DWI.
Michael Hanes, 45, Trenton, received minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at about 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Daviess County.
The accident occurred as Mr. Hanes and John Rune, 18, Gilman City, were both eastbound on Hwy. 6 three miles east of Gallatin. Mr. Runde stopped and was waiting to make a left turn. Mr. Hanes’ vehicle struck the Runde vehicle in the rear.
Mr. Hanes was taken by private vehicle to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany. Both he and Mr. Runde were wearing their seat belts.
Mr. Hanes’ 2000 Ford was totaled and towed by K and J Auto of Trenton. Mr. Runde’s 1984 Toyota received extensive damage and was towed by Bridgemans of Altamont.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. L.M. Allen.
Summons to Mr. Hanes for C and I driving.
Two people received minor injuries when their car struck a deer at about 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Daviess County.
Rebecca Naylor, 23, Independence, was southbound three miles north of Winston on I-35 and struck a deer on the roadway. The deer went partially through the windshield.
A passenger in the vehicle Nickie Eads, 23, Winston, and Ms. Naylor were transported by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Hospital. They were not wearing their seat belts.
The 1993 Mazda received extensive damage and was towed by Bridgemans.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. A.G. McAtee, assisted by Sgt. L.M. Allen and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Daviess County Fire and Rescue.
No summons was issued.
